Some scientists predicted Medicine Lake would erupt in 2004 or 2005 and it hasn’t happened yet. The Long Valley Caldera is a bigger human risk though. It’s actaully several domes. It’s been active since the 70′s, and an eruption would impact an area throughout parts of California & Nevada. There’s no major urban center in California that’s super close to an active volcano, but this is probably the most populated area. It’s also a very popular tourist destination and the road infrastructure wouldnt’ be able to handle a mass exodus. Traffic would be ridiculous.

Well considering they are much like earthquakes…who knows. none are smoking or giving signs of waking right now so it’s a crap shoot.
Last California volcano to erupt was Mt. Lassen back in 1915. So my guess is that would probably be the most likely to erupt next.

We dont have any volcanoes in California. Maybe you are thinking of Mt. St. Helens in Washington State.
