Hi, I’ve just had new combi boiler installed. My old baxi gas fire with back boiler is now disconnected. I have bought a new fire and have been quoted £300-£400!!!. Apparently, the back boiler is full of water has to be emptied and the lining in my chimney has to be taken out. The fire cost £100 and was chuffed at the bargain until i got this quote. I know plumbers/gas engineers are expensive but is this over the top??? Any advice – much appreciated.
