Tornado sirens Westerville, Ohio 8/25
This is the storm coming in today even though here at my house it wasn’t that bad for all the sirens to be going off. Good to be safe…

haven’t you ever heard of a siren test???
video chandoso
go wsmswolves! and it’s not annoying, they just do testing every wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
Indianapolis has a mix of Whelens and Federal Signal. I like the sound of Whelens better.
i live in cleveland never had one
Yes, they are Whelens.
i live in ohio and i see bundles of tornadoes e.e i see mostley funnels tho i live by an open field e.e
The sirens sound very eerie. They sound like wheelens.
OHH Thank for the info but none of them happen where i live so therefore nothing happens where i live
..they may get there fair share but it seems every here and there it does not too often
Ohio does get it’s fair share. Xenia’s had a couple really strong tornadoes (F5 in 1974 and F4 in 2000). Lordstown near Canton had an F5 in 1985. Van Wert had an F3-F4 in 2003. As far as central Ohio, there isn’t anything that strong, however, there was an F3 that hit Westerville/New Albany in 2006. There was an F2-F3 in Circleville in 1998. Cardington had a strong F3 in 1981. Appearently there was another strong F3 in Columbus in 1971. We aren’t Oklahoma, but we do get tornadoes.
I posted my video of the Grandview tornado (siren) blaring on 6/26. I was a mile away from where they said one touched down. I thought it was so funny they were blaring the siren. I hadn’t heard it in years! I moved from Ohio, and it was weird to hear it. I say that much. I use to live a mile away from the siren over near Hilliard, my friend lived right next to it. You would’ve thought I would’ve remembered what it was, nope!
Exacto mundo !! ..xenia had one hit (which was in 1974 after that the way they saw weather changed..anyhoo yea ohio=pretty much no tornadoes ever.
i totaly agree.. except xeina ohio hardly gets Tornados…but thay praticaly blar them for nothing
i soo remmber this! it was funny my lil sis wuz cryin
Ohio Ohio nnever really has tornadoes ta all..but they set off there siren forsure !! i live in ohio ;p..i usualy just go back to what im doing.
That’s usually the mentality that get’s people in trouble. It’s good to at least check where the tornado is when you hear the warnings. Last time, when we had that one at around midnight, we checked where it was then eventually went back to bed. I know it’s a cliche statement but honestly better safe than sorry.
Talk about nuthin better to do…
it might be a test
The high pitched Whelen sirens are 3016s.
This is a true statement. People asked me if I got up the last time during the night and took cover and I told them no, there was no point. I just went back to sleep…
they use the tornado sirens ALOT and Westerville like never gets hit…its rather annoying =P
i live in Strongsville OH never had a tornado near here since the 60′s were lucky.
I live in Westerville,Oh too!!
oh ok. thanks
1000T’s are dual toned. 1003s are the same as 1000T’s except they have solonoids to produce a high and low fire signal.
