ASC T-128 Siren off Constitution Ave in Norman OK. Recorded 6/18/11. I wasn’t sure if this siren was still working so I took a gamble and set up my tripod anyway. I found out very quickly that it was not operational, but I did capture the full 3 minute cycle of the distant Whelen WPS2810s. In my opinion, the Whelens are not very loud or unnerving at all. In fact when I am inside I can barely hear it, and I live less than a half mile from one. It is a shame that Norman has replaced all these beautiful sirens! This siren is not even that old! If anyone has any additional information on this siren, let me know!

ASC T-128 Tornado Siren Norman OK 6/18/11 NON-WORKING

Saturday, May 21st, 2011Here’s a video of the 2001-DC going off. I found this siren last year when I was going somewhere. So, I decided to record it and see how it is. It’s pretty loud. It made me jump a little because it was facing me. I have no idea why Matteson test their sirens so short. I wish they would test for 2 minutes like they used to in 2007. Oh, well. This siren rotates pretty slow. I’d say it’s rotating at 2 RPM. I looked at the control boxes before I left, and it’s been updated. So, that means they won’t replace it. Anyways, enjoy! Please rate & comment as well.
