The epicenter is more than 200 kilometers (124 miles) from Qinghai-Tibet Railway, so the railway was not damaged by the earthquake. Most tourist spots in Qinghai Province are concentrated around Qinghai’s capital city – Xining, which is 830 kilometers (516 miles) from Yushu. Because Yushu is far away from main tourist spots in Qinghai Province and Tibet Autonomous Region, tours to these areas can proceed as planned.
