Also – Swine flue has nothing to do with swine!
That’s a pretty dumb term for it see as it’s not unique to Mexico and never originated from Mexico. Swine flu has been around for ages in a less virulent form.
That would make sense. First recorded cases were detected in Mexico, it becomes Mexican Flu

The odd one out is the ‘Spanish Flu’ of 1918. Nobody is certain, but that may have first appeared in America.
It doesn’t matter what people on the radio call it. The medical profession will call it Mexican Flu, and everybody else will follow suit.
It could be because that although Spanish flu wasn’t from Spain and was a type of bird flu it is still called Spanish flu.
