Nationwide, 333 cases of the virus have been confirmed, the federal government’s health secretary said earlier in the week, without saying how many deaths had been attributed to it.

The latest victims were a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old who died in separate hospitals.

"The tendency toward an increase in flu cases is normal because January is the month with the lowest temperatures," said Ahued adding that the incidence of flu should begin to subside in February.

The first outbreak of the A(H1N1) virus occurred in April, 2009 in Mexico and the United States, and quickly became a global pandemic that claimed the lives of 17,000 people. In Mexico alone, more than 1,250 people died.

The World Health Organization declared the pandemic over in 2010 as the flu returned to typical seasonal patterns.

ok so we all have heard about the swine flu. but luckely for most u are not near the affected areas. me however, im 30 minutes away from mexican border, and towns surrounding mine have already begun to shut schools down. im pregnant and not sure what would happen if i got the flu.Tamiflu and Relenza are medications given to swine flu victims, but is it known to be safe to take these antivirals while expecing? what do i do if i get this damn swine flu? am i more sensitive because im pregnant? i had a flu a week ago. what can i do? what do i do?
echinacea tea is illegal in US. and not healthy while pregnant.
mexico city is not the only place swine flu is present. swine flu cases are being reported around all of mexico, including mexican and texas border. the media does not state truth. this is why i am worried, because like i said, i live less than 30 min. from border towns that have swine flu. i live by many mexican/us bridges that let ppl traveling to and from mexico in. mexican are constantly someing over to shop and eat in my town. my town is a hot spot for rich ppl from mexico city and monterrey mexico to come and spend money.
and another thing. im doing my internship for my massage therapy license. which means i am constantly touching ppl. diff. ppl of ages and ethnicities.
